The CERN abounds with cryogenic facilities which have to operate continuously: liquefiers, refrigerators, vacuum pumps, valve boxes, cryogenic lines etc. The teams at Air Liquide are part of the group of companies that operate all this equipment. A team of 25 engineers and operators stand by day and night to ensure the cryogenic facilities are operating smoothly. 10 technicians make tours of inspection and are ready to intervene on the different sites at the slightest sign of a breakdown.
